Biography

Shyam is qualified to practice law in India. Prior to joining the MIDS, he worked with Veritas Legal, a law firm in Mumbai, specializing in commercial litigation before the Bombay High Court. He also handled domestic and international arbitrations and advised clients on transnational matters. His experience includes cases arising out of shareholders' disputes, real estate disputes, sales contracts and intellectual property matters.

Shyam completed his Bachelors in Law from the National University of Juridical Sciences (NUJS), one of India's top law schools. As a student, Shyam was an avid mooter and represented his University at several moots including the William C. Vis (East) Moot Court Competition and the Manfred Lachs Moot Court Competition where he won several awards.
