Biography

Before joining MIDS, August gained experience in the Dispute Resolution Practices of Baker McKenzie and White & Case in Warsaw, where he worked on international arbitration, commercial and construction litigation, and white-collar crimes matters. Additionally, he interned at the Department of International and European Law of the General Counsel to the Republic of Poland, where he dealt with Investor-State disputes brought against Poland.

August is professionally interested in dispute resolution, in particular international arbitration (both commercial and investment), commercial litigation, commercial mediation, and company law.

He is currently coaching Jagiellonian University FDI Moot team. Previously August was a successful mootie (Honorable Mention for the best speaker at 29th Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, 3rd place at the 2020 FDI Moot Global Rounds, 3rd place at the 15th ICC International Commercial Mediation Competition).

August graduated from the Jagiellonian University in Cracow with a Master's degree (Magister) in Law. His Master's thesis (written in English) concerned the subject of arbitration of shareholders' disputes. August also completed the Erasmus+ exchange at the University of Groningen, courses in American law (Fordham Law School) and negotiation (NYU) in New York City, and the School of Japanese Law and Culture organized by Kobe University and Jagiellonian University.
