Biography

Jayant is a dual qualified Advocate, admitted to practice law in India and the state of New York, U.S.A. He is also a part-qualified English Solicitor (MCT, QLTS). Prior to the MIDS, he completed his LL.M. at Cornell Law School, Cornell University in 2019 and his Bachelor of Arts and Law (B.A. LL.B.) from Jindal Global Law School, O.P. Jindal Global University (India) and graduated with honours.

Jayant is presently a candidate for the LL.M. (MIDS). He has previously worked with law firms and as a junior counsel in both ad-hoc and institutional arbitrations under the rules of the SIAC and LCIA. In addition, he has also interned with the ICC’s New York Secretariat and assisted an arbitrator in a commercial arbitration between a State and foreign investors under the UNCITRAL Rules administered by the PCA.

He has dealt with complex commercial and investment disputes in various sectors including shareholders’ disputes, joint ventures, construction, telecommunications and taxation. He has also acted as counsel in commercial and civil litigations before the Supreme Court of India and the High Court of Delhi.
