Biography

Sebastian Coulon is a Chilean qualified lawyer, who before joining the MIDS obtained his law degree from the University of Chile and an LL.M. in international law from the University of Heidelberg. In 2012 he was appointed research assistant at the international law department of the University of Chile, position he held until 2017. In that capacity, he participated in several arbitration-related research projects, some of which were published as articles and others presented at specialized conferences, both in Chile and abroad.

Between 2014 and 2017, Sebastian worked with the dispute resolution group of a Chilean law firm, where he was able to develop his interests in a practical manner and to gain relevant experience in commercial litigation and arbitration. In addition, he constantly participates in moot court competitions related both to investment and commercial arbitration, in different capacities (coach assistant and arbitrator). 

He is a double national from Germany and Chile and his working languages are Spanish, German and English.
