Biography

Priyanka Shinde is a Singapore qualified lawyer who was admitted to the Singapore Bar in 2019.

She completed her Bachelor of Law (Honours) in the National University of Singapore (NUS), the top law school in Asia. During her time at NUS, she studied a number of international law subjects which include International Investment Law, Environmental Law, Biotechnology Law, International Commercial Litigation, International Commercial Arbitration and China, India and International Law. She was also awarded a prize for being the top student in the cohort for International Investment Law in her year (2017/2018). Apart from academic pursuits, she also represented NUS in the 9th National Law School and Trilegal International Arbitration Moot (2016) as the oralist on international commercial arbitration issues. Her team emerged as a semi-finalist in the competition.

Prior to joining the MIDS, Priyanka was working in a boutique law firm, Asia Ascent Law Corporation, as a legal associate. She was heavily involved in various complex commercial disputes spanning diverse areas of practice, including international commercial arbitration in oil and gas and maritime disputes, shipping, intellectual property matters and capital market disputes. She has represented clients in international commercial arbitrations pursuant to the SIAC rules and has also argued matters before the High Court of Singapore.
