We are looking for a full-time techno-pedagogue and a part-time communication officer to join our team this summer. Apply before 30 June (midnight)!


Junior Techno-Pedagogue 

Full-time, Geneva – Starting date: 1 August 2021

We are looking to hire a dedicated techno-pedagogue to join our team. The techno-pedagogue will ensure the pedagogical and innovative quality of CIDS distance learning programs and activities. This includes the design of curricula which make proper use of technology to achieve the educational objectives set by the faculty and their delivery (in particular MIDS Online Section for the academic year 2021-2022). It also includes the management of the courses on the Moodle platform and the assistance and training of faculty and staff members on the use of specific technologies.
To succeed as techno-pedagogue, you should be able to think creatively, and have excellent communications and interpersonal skills. A bachelor’s degree with experience as a techno-pedagogue or equivalent experience in a similar role is strongly desired.

Main responsibilities of the position:

1. Delivery of distance learning programs:
• Before and during the classes, advises faculty members and the Post-Doctoral Teaching Fellows on the technical and pedagogical options for an optimal delivery of their online courses and assists them with the technical aspects.
• Plans, coordinates and ensures the delivery of the asynchronous course material.
• Identifies the modules of the program which require to be fully or partially re-design in view of a better adjustment to online learning.
• Manages the courses and modules on the Moodle platform and ensures the communication of all relevant information, material and tools to the students.
• Advises and assists online students on technical matters and organizes collective or individual trainings when relevant.
• Coordinates with the relevant faculty member the organization of the final assessment of each course.
• Coordinates the evaluation process of the courses and modules.

2. Design of new online programs
• Participates in the implementation of the CIDS educational strategy and brings his/her expertise to assess the opportunity and/or feasibility of new projects.
• Throughout the development process of a new program, advises the program Executive Director/Coordinators to ensure the optimal integration of technology and meet the set educational goals.
• Stays abreast of new technology and keeps the program’s faculty and staff updated on new tools or innovative technologies that could improve the quality of the programs.

3. Other related matters
• Drafts and ensures the implementation of the relevant policies that the CIDS needs for the running of distance learning programs (ex. copyright and use of electronic educational material policies, consent forms regarding use of image, use of content)
• Ensures the good functioning and adequacy of the equipment (incl. cameras, external drives).
• Manages the numerical archives of the programs run by the CIDS.
• When required, processes exams and assignments through the plagiarism software (Compilatio).

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field.
• 1-2 years’ relevant experience in a techno-pedagogue position or similar role.
• Experience in project management is an asset.
• Excellent knowledge of pedagogical engineering and technologies as well as distance education.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
• Good time management, autonomy, polyvalence and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; Knowledge of Moodle is an asset.
• Proficiency in English (oral and written).


Junior Communications Officer

Part-time (50%), Geneva - Starting date: 1 August 2021

We are looking to hire a dedicated communications officer to join our team. The communications officer will supportt our internal and external communications strategy, write and disseminate content about the Center and its differentt programs.

To succeed as communications officer, you should be able to think creatively, and have excellent communications and interpersonal skills. A bachelor’s degree with experience as a communication officer or equivalent experience in a similar role is strongly desired.

Main responsibilities of the position:

• Collaborates with the CIDS Executive Director to develop and implement an effective communications strategy based on the Center’s objectives and target audience; within the CIDS’s global strategy, collaborates with the MIDS Executive Director to develop and implement a communications strategy specifically designed for the MIDS.
• Writes, updates and distributes content, including publications, newsletters, website and social media content, annual reports, brochures, and other marketing material that communicates the CIDS’s programs and activities; this includes the creation of promotional videos.
• Manages the CIDS’s social media communications.
• Seeks opportunities to enhance the reputation of the brand and coordinates public initiatives as required (incl. creating and producing the CIDS Newsletters).
• Ensures the coherence of the Center’s image and manages its photo library (incl. logos and visual identity in general).
• Coordinates with service providers and external partners concerning all communication and marketing material matters.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism or related field.
• 1-2 years’ relevant experience in a communications role.
• Knowledge of desktop publishing software (InDesign/Photoshop).
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
• Good time management and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, content management systems, and social media platforms. Knowledge of Joomla CMS is an asset.
• Proficiency in English (oral and written).
