Biography

Silvina González Napolitano is Chair Professor of Public International Law and Director of the Observatory on International Arbitration and Foreign Investment Law (Faculty of Law, University of Buenos Aires). She worked for over ten years in the Argentine Treasury Attorney General’s Office, first as counsel and then as the National Director of International Affairs and Controversies, where she represented Argentina in more than 50 investment arbitrations (mostly ICSID and UNCITRAL). As an expert in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship of Argentina she negotiated several bilateral investment treaties and investment chapters of trade agreements. She has also written several books and articles on different themes of international law. She holds a PhD in International Law from the University of Buenos Aires, and acts as arbitrator in investment cases.
