Biography

Professor Emerita, Geneva University Law School;  President, Center for International Dispute Settlement (CIDS) Council; Partner, Lévy Kaufmann-Kohler, Geneva; former Director, Geneva LL.M. in International Dispute Settlement (MIDS), joint program of the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies and Geneva University. Taught private international law; Currently teaches classes on international commercial and investment arbitration.


Practices in international commercial and investment arbitration. Acted in over 220 international arbitrations, mainly as arbitrator. Regularly ranked among the top arbitrators worldwide. Among other positions, President-elect of the International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA) (term 2018-2020) and member of the Governing Board; Honorary President of the Swiss Arbitration Association (ASA) and President from 2001 to 2005; former member of the ICC Court, LCIA Court, and AAA Board; member of the Swiss delegation to the UNCITRAL Working Group II on transparency in investment arbitration (2010–2013) and to UNCITRAL Working Group III on reform of investor-state arbitration (from 2017).
