Biography

Gladwin Issac is an India-qualified lawyer (2018), currently pursuing the LL.M. in International Dispute Settlement (MIDS), with a focus on international commercial and investment treaty arbitration.

Prior to joining the MIDS, he gained significant work experience through short-term work placements with key stakeholders in the field of international dispute settlement, including GAR 100 law firms, an intergovernmental organisation, India’s Ministry of Law and Justice, a leading arbitral institution in the Asia-Pacific region and an investment policy think-tank, where he worked on a broad range of law and policy issues in this field.

Gladwin holds a first-class honours degree in law (LL.B.) from Gujarat National Law University, India (2018), where he served as Research Assistant to Professor Bimal N. Patel, providing assistance in the research of his book, India and International Litigation (Eastern Book Company, 2018), which provides a comprehensive analysis of international litigations initiated by and against India at the International Court of Justice, International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea, the Permanent Court of Arbitration and the World Trade Organisation. He has also completed advanced courses from the International Academy of Arbitration Law (2018), the World Trade Institute (2018) and the Xiamen Academy of International Law (2019).
