Luisa is a MIDS LL.M. Candidate 2019-2020 and a Colombian qualified legal practitioner who graduated from Los Andes University in 2018.
Prior to enrolling at the MIDS, she served as advisor to Colombia’s Data Protection Authority - the Deputy Superintendent for Data Protection.She was also a Junior Associate at Alvarez Zuluaga Legal Consultants where she helped draft arbitral awards and prepare the defense for cases in Administrative and Infrastructure Law.
During her time as a Law School student she interned at the insolvency division of Colombia's Superintendency of Corporations and at the Office of International Legal Affairs of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism.
She has given various conferences on Data Protection, co-authored the “Accountability Guide on Cross-border Transfers of Personal Data”, and worked as research assistant in the advisory opinion given to Colombia’s National Registry regarding data protection.
She is an active member of Los Andes University’s Group of Studies in Internet, e-Commerce, Telecommunications and Informatics (GECTI by its initials in Spanish).
