Maria is an international lawyer with professional experience in the areas of trade policy and economic development. For more than one and a half years between 2015 and 2017, she worked at the USAID Trade Policy Project in Kyiv, Ukraine. As a Junior Associate, she provided technical assistance to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine and other public and private stakeholders on various trade-related matters (e.g., WTO compliance, customs and trade facilitation and dispute settlement).
Before joining the MIDS, Maria also completed an internship at the International Trade Centre in Geneva, where she gained experience in the management and coordination of international development projects in the CIS countries.
Maria holds a Master Degree in International Law with a focus on international trade regulation from Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University. She also participated in the regional and final rounds of the ELSA Moot Court Competition on WTO Law in 2016.
She is fluent in English, Russian and Ukrainian.
