Biography

Vamika is an HKSAR national, being born and brought up in Hong Kong. She completed her Bachelor of Laws (2018) and Postgraduate Certificate of Laws (2019) from the City University of Hong Kong. She was awarded multiple scholarships for excelling in the fields of International Investment Law and Public International Law. She also competed in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, and was an oralist in the Vis East. Vamika’s team won a total of 8 awards, amongst which she was individually awarded an honourable mention for best oralist.

Upon completing her PCLL, Vamika pursued the LL.M. in International Arbitration and Dispute Resolution at the National University of Singapore (NUS) under a full scholarship. Having been nominated by NUS, and admitted by the MIDS, Vamika is now pursuing the NUS – MIDS Double Degree between NUS, the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, and the University of Geneva. Under the double degree, Vamika will graduate with LLMs from NUS and MIDS in 2021.

From a practical perspective, Vamika has gained experience in the field of arbitration through her internships with Mr. Andrew Moran QC at The Arbitration Chambers, and at Michael Hwang Chambers LLC, and by volunteering with the American Arbitration Association – International Centre for Dispute Resolution. In the MIDS, Vamika is currently expanding her horizons also to international trade and the WTO.
