Biography

Octavio is a chilean lawyer admitted to Santiago of Chile Bar Association (2016), and currently he is a student at the MIDS.

As regards his academic background, he holds a Law of Bachelor from Universidad de Los Andes Law School in Santiago, Chile, and he has specialization Diplomas in several areas, such as, US Law at University of California, USA, and in Law of Torts at Universidad Católica, Chile.

With regard to experience, he has worked as an attorney in law firms and in the Ministry of Health in Chile, with a specialty in the areas of litigation and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) in civil, commercial, regulatory and environmental matters. Octavio has participated mostly in national arbitrations and litigations related to mining and electricity infrastructure projects, the construction of hospital centers, and highway and port concessions, among others. In addition, he has been a party to mediations and negotiations related to medical malpractice and healthcare liability matters.

He used to be the author of several publication, such as “The Proof of a Loss of Chance in Light of Chilean Jurisprudence: A Critical View” (2019), and “Current Problem-Solving with respect to Those Public Works Contracts in the Healthcare Industry Submitted to a Final Audit Report” (2020).
