Duc Viet Tran is a Vietnamese trainee lawyer and currently a student at the MIDS.
Prior to joining the MIDS, he worked at Hanoi office of Yulchon LLC - a full service international corporate law firm headquartered in Seoul, South Korea - for more than 4 years with specialization in corporate, finance, and international dispute settlement from 2015 after accomplishing internships at Tilleke & Gibbins, Baker McKenzie, and Allens in Vietnam.
He obtained his LL.B. degree in International Law (2014) from the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam as the salutatorian of his batch and holds a Lawyer Training Certificate from Judicial Academy of Vietnam (2017). Besides, he participated as a scholar in several international legal training programmes including Prague Summer Mediation Academy (2016), International Academy for Arbitration Law (2018), and External Programme of the Hague Academy of International Law (2018).
During the course of studies and works, he intensively participated as an oralist, coach, and arbitrator in various international moot court competitions such as Vis Moot, FDI Moot, and LawAsia Moot. For the 2018 – 2019 academic year, he was a visiting lecturer at Faculty of International Law of Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam teaching “Mooting Skills” subject to its senior law students.
Duc Viet is a member of Vietnam Society of International Law and a mentee of the 2019 – 2020 Mentoring Programme of Young ICCA (International Council for Commercial Arbitration).
