Prior to joining the MIDS LL.M Program, Romain Colas studied International Business Law at the University of Burgundy in France, and International Commercial Law at the Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge. Past Master Thesis include ‘Yukos case’ and ‘Shareholder claims for reflective loss in the new generation of International Investment Agreements’. He is expected to draft his MIDS LL.M Thesis about ‘Domestic court review of non-ISCID awards’ under the supervision of Professor Gabrielle Kaufmann-Kohler.
Over the years, Romain have developed a keen interest in international arbitration by studying it in significant detail and participating in moot court competitions. His professional experience working as a legal intern at SCP CHAUMARD-TOURAILLE, a law firm in Dijon, was focused on commercial litigation and allowed him to further pursue his interest in commercial dispute resolution.
He is expected to sit the bar exam in France in 2019.
