Biography

Irina Chankseliani is a lawyer. She has completed the Bachelor Degree in International Business Law (with distinction) at I.Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and LL.M Degree in Civil Law at Caucasus University, Caucasus School of Law (Tbilisi, Georgia). In 2014, she has graduated the joint master program of Geneva University Law school and the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies – Master in International Dispute Settlement (MIDS, LL.M) with Majors in international investment and commercial arbitrations.
Since 2007 to 2010 she was working in the Ministry of Justice of Georgia on different positions in the department of State Representation in International Arbitration. Irina was responsible for ensuring the coordination of the representation of state interests in international arbitrations as well as for reforming the legislation in the field of private law. Later, as a Chief Lawyer of the Legal Department of Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, she was actively involved in a workload related to dispute settlement matters, particularly drafting and preparing legal opinions about the contracts where dispute settlement mechanisms are International Commercial/Investment Arbitration. Currently, she holds Legal Project Manager position at permanent arbitration institution – Dispute Resolution Center of Georgia. She is a member of the “Committee for Alternative Dispute Resolution” at the Georgian Bar Association and holds the “Mentee” position at the Young ICCA Mentoring Program, cycle 2018-2019.
She is also the member of several professional associations, including GAA (Georgian Association of Arbitrators), ICC YAF, Young ICCA, LCIA YIAG, Young ISTAC, RAA 40, ASA Below 40.
