Biography

Beka Injia currently holds the position of the Secretary General of the Georgian International Arbitration Centre and in parallel is the chief Counsel of the Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Mr. Injia has previously worked both in public and in private sector. His professional experience includes positions at the Ministry of Finances and Ministry of Justice of Georgia. For number of year he was the General legal counsel of one of the largest Real Estate Development Company in Georgia.
Mr. Injia has been the member of various working groups and committees created with the aim of reforming the existing Georgian Legislation. In particular, he was the member of the working committee created by the Ministry of Justice that prepared the draft of the amendments to the Arbitration Law of Georgia. Mr. Injia was one of the person’s behind the idea of the formation of an international arbitration institution in Georgia. He was the member of the GIAC Formation Working Group and the member of the International Commission for Final Revision of the GIAC Arbitration Rules.
He is the member of the Council of Tax disputes acting at Ministry of Finance, Also member of the Procurement dispute board at State Procurement Agency. Mr. Injia has intensive practice in appointing the DABs under the FIDIC contracts. He is giving the lectures on Commercial Arbitration in various Universities in Georgia.
Mr. Injia holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Law from Tbilisi State University, as well as an LL.M in International Dispute Settlement (MIDS) from a joint program of the Geneva University Law School and the Graduate Institute of international and Development Studies, in Geneva, Switzerland. Mr Injia has participated in number of international and local workshops, conferences. He is an invited lecturer at the University of Georgia where he conducts a course on International Commercial Arbitration.
Mr. Injia is fluent in his native Georgian, as well as in English and Russian.
