Biography

Lakshana is an India-qualified lawyer with expertise is in international arbitration (commercial and investment treaty matters), complex multi-jurisdictional litigation and white-collar investigation. She has vast experience in representing clients in ad-hoc and institutional arbitrations (including under UNCITRAL, ICSID, ICC, LCIA and SIAC Rules) seated in both common law and civil jurisdictions around the world.

In September 2022, Lakshana joined the Geneva LLM in international dispute settlement (MIDS), with a full scholarship from LALIVE. Before enrolling at the MIDS, she worked as an International Arbitration Associate with Dr Rishab Gupta at Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co, Mumbai (Amarchand), for three years. Amarchand is an exclusive member of Lex Mundi for India and is widely recognized by Chambers & Partners Global and The Legal 500 for its expertise in various sectors.

Earlier, Lakshana read law in NALSAR University, a pre-eminent law school in India. She graduated with four gold medals, including the Vice-Chancellor’s special recognition for Proven Leadership and Best All-Round Student. At law school, Lakshana won accolades in several competitions and in 2016, she represented India at UNCTAD International Investment Arbitration Treaty Mapping Project.

In her free time, Lakshana loves playing sports, travelling, and hiking. She is an advanced practitioner of yoga and enjoys teaching yoga part-time.
