Ana Karina is an Ecuadorian-qualified lawyer, and a candidate for the LL.M. in International Dispute Settlement (MIDS). She obtained her law degree in Ecuador, graduating with honors – magna cum laude – from Universidad San Francisco de Quito.
Before joining the MIDS, she was a law clerk for Justice Herrería in the Constitutional Court of Ecuador. Throughout her career, she has worked as an associate for top-tier firms in Ecuador, which allowed her to advise local and international clients in complex dispute resolutions. Ana Karina focuses her experience on civil law, administrative law, public contracts, international and domestic arbitration, and constitutional law. Her previous experience includes international arbitrations under ICC and UNCITRAL rules relating to investment and public contracts in Ecuador.
Furthermore, Ana Karina has contributed as an assistant teacher at Universidad San Francisco de Quito and has been involved in national and international arbitration moots. She has also published several articles promoting the development of arbitration in Ecuador.
