Biography

Brigitte Stern is an Emeritus Professor of International Law at the University of Paris I, Panthéon-Sorbonne and former Professor at the Geneva Graduate Institute for International and Development Studies (IHEID). She has also been invited as a visiting Professor in many universities or schools around the world. She is the author of numerous books and articles focusing on different areas of international law.

She is a former member and Vice-President of the United Nations Administrative Tribunal (UNAT), and of the Administrative Tribunal of the Asian Development Bank. She has also served as President of the French Commission for the Elimination of Landmines.

Brigitte Stern is one of the world’s leading arbitrators, having acted as arbitrator in numerous international arbitration proceedings, ad hoc (including UNCITRAL), under the rules of the ICC, SCC, SIAC, ICSID as well as in PCA and NAFTA proceedings. She is a member of the WTO List of Panelists, of the Arbitrators List of the Singapore International Arbitration Center (SIAC), of the Kuala Lumpur Regional Center for Arbitration (KLRCA), of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Center (HKIAC ).
