Biography

A graduate of Harvard College and Columbia Law School, his main areas of practice are international commercial arbitration and international construction. He has represented States and State-owned entities as well as companies in cases under the principal rules of international arbitration, and served as chairman of the tribunal or co-arbitrator in such arbitrations. He specializes in claims and disputes in relation to civil engineering, industrial (including nuclear) and building projects, as well as projects in the oil and gas industry. He is a former Vice President Emeritus of the ICC’s International Court of Arbitration, and is the legal adviser of the FIDIC Contracts Committee and a lecturer on international construction contracts at the University Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas.
