Param Bhalerao is an India qualified lawyer enrolled with the Bar Council of Maharashtra & Goa. His areas of practice include international commercial arbitration, construction arbitration and commercial litigation.
Prior to joining the MIDS, Param worked with the international arbitration practice group of Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co. Param has represented a major interior fit-out contractor in a USD 56 million ICC international construction arbitration, an eco-construction company in an ad-hoc FIDIC construction arbitration, assisted a major investment fund in a post-M&A SIAC arbitration, and represented a rig management company with the enforcement of a first-of-its kind arbitral award arising out of a third party funded international arbitration. As a result of his practical experience and academic interests, Param has developed a keen interest in arbitration in the energy, construction and finance industries.
While he was a student at his alma mater, the Gujarat National Law University, Param represented his University at the 22nd Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court Competition, Vienna. Param's extra-curricular interests include bird watching, photography and sculpting.
