Biography

Samhith is an Indian qualified lawyer with a keen interest in international commercial and investment arbitration. Prior to joining the MIDS, he worked at one of India's premier commercial law firms, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, for three years as an Associate. He acquired a diverse range of experience by working not only as a dispute resolution attorney, but also in the general corporate (mergers and acquisitions) and financial regulation practices of the firm. As a member of the dispute resolution practice, Samhith focused on commercial and regulatory litigation in the High Court of Bombay and commercial arbitrations in various sectors, including technical arbitrations in the oil/energy and electrification sectors.

Samhith has a dual degree - a Bachelor of Arts and Law (B.A. LL.B.) - from Jindal Global Law School, O.P. Jindal Global University (India) and graduated with honours. During his time in law school, Samhith demonstrated an interest in international arbitration and public international law. He has a number of publications on commercial arbitration to his credit and received a research scholarship from the Centre of International Law Research and Policy (Belgium). He has also successfully participated in a number of moot court competitions, including the National Law School of India (NLSIU) International Arbitration Moot, the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition (Washington D.C.) and the Frankfurt International Arbitration Moot.

Samhith enjoys outdoor activities, such as hiking and scuba diving, in his free time.
