Biography

Máté Csernus is a Hungarian lawyer specialized in international dispute settlement, currently enrolled in the MIDS LL.M. program. Prior to his LL.M. studies Máté worked at the Budapest office of DLA Piper, where he dealt with commercial litigation and domestic and international arbitration. He was also actively involved in EU law related cases representing a client in a preliminary ruling procedure before the CJEU. Prior to joining DLA Piper, Máté had gained experience working as a legal trainee at two reputable Hungarian law firms.

Máté also has extensive moot court experience, having acted as judge and agent in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. He also coached the Hungarian team of 2018/2019, which was awarded, among others, the Alona E. Evans Award for the best combined Memorials in the International Round.
